Lawrence High School (Lawrence, MA) 1868-1901

lhs2The Library has recently acquired the plans for the building that served as Lawrence High School from 1867 to 1901. It was located where the Oliver School is now on Haverhill Street overlooking the Common. In 1901 the building at the corner of Lawrence and Haverhill Streets became Lawrence High School.oldhighschool
This is the High School that the poet, Robert Frost, attended and graduated from in 1892. He was the class valedictorian and his future wife, Elinor White, was salutatorian.

The original plans of the school are now available on Digital Commonwealth.
