Bourgoin Playground (Lawrence, MA)

burgoinThe playground located on West Street is named after Sergeant Lucien Bourgoin. He was in a special operation called “Jedburgh” parachuting into enemy held in France, Belgium, and Holland in teams of three on or after D-Day. The paratroopers came from the US, Britain, France, Holland, and Belgium. Sgt. Bourgoin was killed in action August 9, 1944.
