Mofford, Juliet Manuscript Collection

The contents of this collection are contained within a single half sized manuscript box.  Those contents are composed of typescript notes made in the creation of Greater Lawrence: a Bibliography compiled by Juliet Haines Mofford.  There is one open letter to colleagues from Thomas W. Leavitt, the director of the Merrimack Valley Textile Museum.

Juliet Haines Mofford has a B.A. from Tufts University in Art History and has done graduate work at Goethe Universitat in Frankfort Am Main, Germany (European culture/art) and Boston University (art history).  She was employed from 1975-1981, as a museum teacher at the Merrimack Valley Textile Museum, North Andover (now American Textile History Museum, Lowell) when she researched, wrote, edited, and indexed Greater Lawrence: an annotated Bibliography.  Her later work experience was director of education, research, and interpretation from 1981 to 1988 at the Old York Historical Society, York, ME and assistant director of the Lowell Historic Preservation Commission (U.S. Dept. of Interior) from 1988-1996.  Presently (1998) Ms. Mofford works as a consultant on education programs, interpretive methods, exhibit development, and history through drama for a number of groups and organizations.  She lives in Andover.
